Mendoza is Argentina’s wine capital. In the western part of the country, it’s centrally located in the middle of all the wineries and is an ideal base for exploring these on one of the many wine tours.
Although a city of around a million people, it has a small town feel with its relaxed pace and many tree- and fountain-filled plazas. Mendoza is also in an area known for it’s natural beauty, near the eastern edge of the Andes. Consequently, many sports such as whitewater rafting, skydiving, horseriding, etc., can be found here.

Do you speak Spanish? Is it very difficult to get around Argentina and Uruguay for non-Spanish speakers?
Yes, I speak Spanish. English is widely spoken, though. So you can get by with English, especially in the tourist areas/large cities.
