Kolkata

Kolkata Colonial ArchitectureKolkata is India’s second-largest city with 15 million people. It is the former capital of British India and retains much of the colonial architecture–mostly in decay today. The center includes the BBD Bagh area, named for Binoy, Badal, and Dinesh, three nationalists who tried to assassinate the British lieutenant governor in 1930. Here, you find the High Court and other government buildings as well as many churches.

About admin

I've been fascinated by world cultures all my life. I tried to teach myself Spanish at age 9, but that didn't work so well. I voraciously read books on all areas of the world as a teenager. I grew up to study languages and cultures in college, and have travelled in over 50 countries exploring what is unique and essential to each culture.
